Suck My Look

I’ve been wanting to get ahold of Nylon Japan now for some time. And like all perfect princesses, I always get what I want.
Nylon Japan does not disappoint.
If you have ever read any Japanese fashion magazines, and I use the term read very loosely here, then you know articles and text are virtually non-existant and instead the pages are a tight grid
of endless outfit combinations.
Nylon Japan follows this format
but also introduces a few fashion spreads, product reviews and even a couple articles. It manages to hang on to the identity and branding of Nylon while assimilating to the cultural styling of Japanese publications.
More than just hot gear and pretty pictures, Nylon Japan served up a nice dose of cultural comparison for me. While American sites like Perez Hilton defame and ridicule a celeb for publicly appearing in the same garment more than once, Nylon Japan actually had a 6-page layout praising stars such as Nicole Richie, Chloe Sevigny, Christina Aguilera for integrating sweaters, hats and coats into multiple looks.
And lastly, not to be overlooked, as an American obsessed with the Toyko-lure, I love the headlines like Useful! above a picture of a hot pink t-shirt with the slogan Suck My Look Basso & Brooke.
I maintain my position that Nylon Magazine (American, Japanese, Nylon Men, whatever you can get your grubby paws on) is the best bang for your buck of the readily available newsstand publications.
